BONAVISTA BLUE POINT- Cu, Ag

Bonavista Blue Point mineral occurrence is hosted by a reduced sedimentary horizon in a red bed sequence.  The copper mineralization occurs in a brown-weathering, gossanous, finely pyritic grey bed. The reduced greybeds appear zoned, with the middle portion of the unit noticeably browner (possibly very fine sulphide) in colour, separating green to grey sandstone above and below the brown zone.

Chip sample returned 0.54% Cu and 7.2 g/t Ag over 25.5 m, including 0.93% Cu and 13.02 g/t Ag over 13.5 m and a core zone of 4.5 meters within the brown zone returned an average grade of 1.38% Cu and 19.35 g/t Ag over 4.5 m. Some of the highest grades were returned from the 8.5 meter thick section through the brown zone.  These assay results strongly suggest a mineral zonation, typical in these types of deposits.

Subsequent drilling intersected the mineralized unit along strike, 1.8 km with values of 1% Cu and 12.1 g/t Ag over 14.25 m and  0.8% Cu over 9.7 m. Further results returned  2% Cu and 23.1 g/t over 6 m (O'Brien and King, 2002).
